TiM operates on two levels:
- The Company Level
- The Project Level
If you are operating on the "Project level", it means you are working within a specific project, and can access only the information connected to that project.
If you are operating on the "Company level", it means you have access to all the information within a TiM Company Account, and you can click into any project housed within that Company Account.
For example: If George Lucas was using TiM, his Company Account would be called "Lucas Film Ltd, LLC", and each one of the Star Wars movies would be a project in his account.
Company level dashboard vs. Project level dashboard:
On a Company level dashboard, you can click into the Company's settings, manage Company Admins, pull progress reports, build startwork, and click into any project housed under the Company Account.
This would be the Company level dashboard George Lucas would see:
The look of a Project-level dashboard depends on what Permissions have been set for that user. For example, a Production Accountant would be able to see and to click into more options than a Best Boy.
This would be the dashboard George Lucas or his Production Accountant would see on the Project level:
A Best Boy with more limited Permissions may see the Episode IV dashboard like this:
Company Admins vs. Project-level employees:
If you want a person to have access to one project only, invite them to the project via an Employee Invite.
If you want a person to have access to every project within a Company Account, invite the employee as a Company Admin.
Company Admins can:
- Create productions
- Access any production within the Company Account.
- Edit Company Account forms.
- Edit Company Account general and billing information.
Startwork at the Company level vs. Production level:
It is best practice in TiM to build startwork at the Company level. Every form and packet published at the Company level is stored in your Company library, and is available to insert into packets at the Project level.
Startwork published at the Project level will only be available to that Project. Project-level startwork cannot be shared between Projects, and cannot be sent up to the Company level.
Project-level packets are called Doorway packets. Doorway packets are auto-matched to employees based on the information selected in their employee invite.
