TiM smart fields are the 'magic' that allow documents to be pre-populated. When an employee receives their startwork, TiM will essentially 'fill out' the entire packet for them.
But how is that information able to appear?
Different types of TiM smart fields are applied to clean PDFs in the startwork builder area. Once applied, smart fields pull and pre-populate information onto startwork documents.
NOTE: If a TiM smart field is not placed on a packet, no information will appear!
TiM smart fields pull information from three sources:
- An employee's TiM user Profile (completed by the employee when they sign up with TiM)
2. The Production Details screen (completed by a production representative when the project is created)
3. The Employee Invite screen (completed by a production representative when inviting an employee to fill out startwork).
Let's say an employee's phone number needs to appear on a start form, a WTPA notice, and a deal memo.
On paper, in Docusign, or in Acrobat, the employee would have to write or enter their phone number three times (once on each form). How tedious!
TiM is different.
In TiM, smart fields placed on each form will pull the phone number from the employee's profile, so when the packet is matched to the employee, their phone number will appear everywhere the Phone Number smart field was placed.
