There will be dedicated step to review your W-4 each time you submit a packet in which one is included. However, you can save your default W-4 information within your TiM Profile so you only need to review the stored information each time, instead of completing the form from scratch.
We designed the workflow this way because the W-4 released in 2020 is structured such that you (the employee) may need to provide different answers for each job, based on factors like what information was submitted on your spouse’s W-4 or whether or not this is the highest paying job in your household.
This new W-4 review step ensures the flexibility and control to review and change your W-4 information as necessary.
NOTES:
- If production bounces your previously submitted packet back to you, you will not be prompted to review your W-4 again (though if you need to make changes, you can do so directly onto the form). You will only be prompted to re-review your W-4 if production sends you a different packet.
- There are particular cases where an employer may not include a W-4 in your packet (for example, typically Loan-Out employees do not need to complete W-4s). If there is no W-4 in your Startwork packet, you will not be prompted to review or complete the W-4.
