- Will the Projects under each production entity have the same or very similar forms and packets?
- Will each production entity have the same Company Admins?
If the answer is Yes to both questions, then the set up for each Project in TiM will be mostly the same, even though the Projects might have different production entity names assigned. Thus, creating different TiM Company Accounts per production entity is not necessary -- unless you have a preference of how your Projects and Company Admins are organized in TiM (see options below).
Option #1:
House all of your Projects under a single TiM Company Account, even if the Projects are produced by different entities
With this option, you would build all of your Company Forms (such as an NDA, Deal Memo, and even project-specific forms such as Accounting Policies) within your Company Library, as well as create Company-level Packets. Then, when you create a Project you would pull the necessary forms and packets from your Company Library and insert them into Project-level Startwork Templates.
Pro Tip: When creating your Company Forms, be sure to utilize the Smart Field named "Production Entity Name"! This Smart Field will dynamically populate the Production Entity Name entered in the Production Entity Field of the Project's Production Info area and ensure the proper entity name appears on Project-level Startwork. Using the Production Entity Name Smart Field will save you the trouble of needing to create unique forms for each entity. Instead, create a generic form and allow TiM to populate the details automatically.
Fewer forms = simpler set up = smaller packets = happier admins & crewmembers!
Housing all of your Projects under a single TiM Company Account also means that connecting your Company Admins is more straightforward - Just invite all Company Admins to the one Company Account, and they will have access to all Projects housed within that Account by default.
Option #2:
Create multiple, separate TiM Company Accounts for each of your producing entities and housing Projects per entity
Since Forms and Packets cannot be shared, transferred, or duplicated between separate Company Accounts, with this option you would need to build your Company Forms and Company Packets within each Account's Company Library, even if the forms are the same for each entity. If you use the same form(s) across multiple entities, you would need to build the same form more than once, in different Company Libraries!
Also, Company Admins would need to be Invited to each Company Account in order to have access to all of the Projects housed across the multiple Company Accounts.
To be onboarding-ready, you will also need to create and set up Projects within each Company Account.
