Multifactor authentication (MFA) offers security that relies upon additional methods beyond just your password (ex: phone, text, or app) to allow access to your account. It can use two or more factors to authenticate a user.
For TiM, MFA includes two steps to verify you are who you say you are, like your password and a code sent to your mobile phone. MFA is a better way to secure your account, your access to web-based products, as well as your information.
MFA is an important tool implemented to reduce security risks and better protect the information stored within your TiM Account.
MFA creates a layered defense that makes it more difficult for an unauthorized person to access your TiM Account. If one factor is compromised or broken, there are still one or more barriers to breach before successfully breaking into an Account.
